Shoot 1

Double Exposures
These are my test ones the thing i am aiming to do is something like the head one with the leaves in. I really like these photos I have taken and edited. They all look quite dreamy and different.

Shoot Plan

Scanograms
For my scanogram shoot i want to make it quite mythical and fairy tale like. I have 3 different plans/ shoots that I want to do. 1 of these ideas is printing off or drawing a photo of a castle then collect loads of colourful flowers and leaves to make the background really colourful. It will reflect that in a fairytale everything is happy and colourful and everything turns out perfect. The second idea I have is to draw and print off mythical creatures and get loads of different types of green leaves as the background to give the feel that they're in a forest. The third idea i have is to look at the evil in the different fairy tails, I'm going to print out a picture of a dragon and use my hair as the fire coming outside of its mouth. The equipment that I will need to achieve this is a flat bed scanner, a computer and the items I need to use for my photos. This shoot is going to take place in college in the classroom. I could move my hair for the fire picture to give it a more natural effect. The possible difficulties I could have are that some of the objects might move when I am scanning. The scanner might not work, Richard might forget to bring the scanner in.

Emulsion Transfers
For my Emulsion transfers i want to keep the fairy tale theme going. For these I'm going to stick to trees, forests and flowers and then add a vintage effect to make it dreamy. Im going to ware away the edges to make it look old and battered and these are the two pictures I'm going to use. The equipment that I will use is the photo, emulsion paint, a hair dryer, a paint brush, paper, water and a sponge. I will be taking the photos in college ground in the art rooms. You can rub away the edges to give it a old feel you can also use water colour and change the colour of the picture and you can also use different coloured paper. The possible difficulties are that you could use to much water. Another difficulty is that if you rub too hard the picture will come off too.

Projection Photography
For my Projection Photographs I want to use mythical creatures. I have 3 ideas for this. The first one i am going to draw some devil horns and a tail then project the image onto someone who is in fully black or fully white. The second idea I have is to draw a unicorn horn or two horns to make someone look like a human/animal. The third idea I have is to take my own photo of a flower and use a shadow so it looks like a silhouette of someone lying in a bed of flowers. The equipment I will need is a scanner, a laptop, my drawings, a person and my camera. It will be shot in the college studio. The possible difficulties are the shadows not working properly or the pictures not being the right size for the person.

Double Exposure
For my Double exposures I want to create dreamy people. By dreamy people I mean show there personalities through. So dead things will show a bad personality and then flowers for a good/fun personality. Or like a shiny thing for rich and a dull gritty thing for poor. The equipment I will need for this are a camera and a computer. It will be shot and edited in the college and college classroom. The possible difficulties are that the editing might not work how I want it too and the pictures.

Joiners
For my joiners in going to try and take a picture of a fairytale place or person. My first idea is to Take lots of pictures of a really pretty place then joint them together. My second idea is to take lots of pictures of someone dressed as a fairytale princess or prince. For this I will need my computer and camera. It will be shot in the college studio or outside of college. The possible difficulties are that when I edit the photos the separate little photos might not go in the right place.

Zoom burst
For my zoom burst photos I am going to take photos of different places. For my first idea I'm going to take a picture of a chandelier because its really fancy and mythical. My second idea   is to take a picture of some pretty coloured trees. The equipment I will need for this is just a camera. Some of the photos will be shot in college grounds and some at the Blackpool winter gardens. The possible difficulties that I could have is that I may not be able to do the technique properly.

My Experiments

Scanograms
I really like using the scanograms. I think the detail in them is amazing and i like the way you can achive weird but amazing photographs. I defiantly want to use this as one of my final ideas because it is very dreamy and you can create all sorts of things with it while it still has amazing detail.

 Projections
I do like these but next time i want to do something more realistic then just putting a bright colour over someone. Next time i want to put a tail or something like that on someone to make it look like their a fairy tale creature or something like that. Also i have realised it will work a lot better when the person has plain clothing on instead of patterned.

Research

Brief
I have been approached by a highly innovative and creative design website to generate six high- quality, experimental images for their company. They also want to run a feature documenting the development of your work and you have been asked to present this in the format of a blog.

Scenario
Photographers often present their work in a portfolio. A typical photographic portfolio will show a variety of photographic skills that includes a range of the diverse approaches by the photographer. Experimental photography encourages and develops the learners’ creative skills to challenge the more conventional methods to produce individual and innovative outcomes. The final portfolio for this unit will consist of images on a website.

Scanograms
These are created by putting things on the flat bed scanner, to get the black background you leave the lid of the scanner open. I really like these photos because you can do a lot with it. I really like the technique used because it is so detailed and looks very natural.

This cover is usually removed or held open when scanning a object/objects, to stop damage of the subject. Flatbed scanners normally have a hinged cover that covers the bed, and reflects light back into the scan head. Taking off the cover also allows the photographer to use different lights that can be positioned above the bed, which can be used to improve the depth captured by the scanner. A famous photographer I have found that uses scanograms is Richard Dawson. I really like his work because it is really effective and well thought out. I like the way he has positioned it so it covers the whole picture/scan and it is not just in one spot.

Emulsion Transfers
These are created by taking a photo then putting emulsion paint onto it. Then you place it down onto some paper and wait for it to dry. Once it has dried you get a damp cloth and rub over the top of it until the photo is revealed. I do really like these photos because they give you the feeling that they're old, they look quite vintage. They especially look old because the colors are quite faded i do l would definitely try this effect out. A famous photographer i have found that uses Emulsion is Gary Auerbach. I really like his work because it is quite fairy taily. Its really nice how he has only rubbed like half of the photo off and left patches throughout the photos.

Projections
These are created by projecting a imagine onto a person/object. I really like these photos because they look quite mythical and unnatural. I like the way some of them have been put in black and white and I also like the affect of the ones in colour. I especially like the ones with bugs and wings because they're really interesting and look a lot more interesting then just a pattern.  A famous photographer that uses projections is...
